Fitness Center on Cruise Ships

Cruise ships adapt to all types of passengers and do not break their daily routine during their vacation stay by having a gym that in most shipping companies can be accessed completely free of charge and has a multitude of exercise equipment with which to have a routine just like at home. Some of the machines that can be found in the gyms of the cruise ships would be:

  • Treadmills
  • Stationary bikes
  • Elliptical machines
  • Rowing machines
  • Stair climbers
  • Vibration platforms
  • Step machines
  • Strength machines (bench press, leg extension machines, bicep curls, among others)
  • Ab benches
  • Exercise balls
  • Resistance bands
  • Free weights (dumbbells, bars, kettlebells, etc.)
  • Functional training equipment (suspension bars, gymnastic rings, jump boxes, among others)
  • Combined cardiovascular and strength training machines

The schedule of the gyms on ships are usually in many cases from 07:00 to 00:00, so they are practically open all day, even some cruise ships have it open 24 hours a day to practice sports at any time.

What is the best time to go to the gym during the cruise? The best time to go is usually when the guests are on excursions or the cruise ship is in port, since they are off the ship and the gym is "just" for you.

Apart from this, you can hire a personal trainer or personal advisor to help you with the exercise routine you have to do and the dietary approach during your vacation days, all at an additional cost. In addition, you can access the private classes of pilates, zumba, spinning, yoga and fitness in group and that are usually advertised in the daily travel guide that leave the cabin every night.

One of the main advantages of this type of gyms is that they usually have the latest machinery, a super wide space and incredible sea views while exercising.
